"David
Ramey is one of the few California winemakers who thinks in terms of
structure, not just flavor, something that sets him apart from many of
his peers. All of the wines I tasted at Ramey’s cellar just outside
Healdsburg were terrific. I also sampled a number of older wines, all of
which have held up very well. Best of all, most of the wines remain
very fairly priced considering the quality of what is in the bottle. " Antonio Galloni, the Wine Advocate

"The 2009 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard impresses for its focus and nuance.
Layers of chiseled, beautifully delineated fruit emerge from this
sculpted Chardonnay. The Hudson is about subtlety first and foremost.
Ripe apricots, freshly cut flowers, pastry, lemon, crushed rocks and
French oak inform the pure, creamy finish. Anticipated maturity:
2013-2019. "

2009 Ramey Chardonnay Carneros "Hyde Vineyard"
Pre-Arrival Price $54.99
"The
2009 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is another of the wines that emphasizes
textural depth and body. This is a relatively plush, rich Chardonnay
endowed with considerable volume in its apricot and tangerine fruit. The
aromas and flavors move towards the more tropical end of the spectrum,
but without fully reaching that level of exoticness. Readers who
appreciate a more full-bodied style of Chardonnay will love the Hyde. I
especially like the way the wine turns delicate with time in the glass.
Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019."

"The 2009 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard
shows off a multitude of aromas, flavors and textures. It is a gorgeous,
multi-dimensional wine endowed with weightless elegance and definition.
Lemon, pastry, white flowers and crushed rocks wrap around the
insistent finish. In 2009 the Ritchie is all about subtlety, elegance
and finesse. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2019."

2010 Ramey Claret Napa Valley
Pre-Arrival Price $34.99
"The
2010 Claret comes across as quite floral, soft and surprisingly
understated for the vintage. Floral notes add brightness on the finish
in this gracious, approachable wine. The 2010 is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon,
8% Syrah, and 2% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2022."

2009 Ramey Syrah Sonoma Coast "Rodgers Creek Vineyard"
Pre-Arrival Price $54.99
"The
2009 Syrah Rodgers Creek Vineyard (from barrel) caresses the palate
with layers of expressive, sensual fruit. The wine is understandably
quite primary and young, but nevertheless impresses for its textural
elegance and shape. This needs time to come together but is immensely
promising, even at this early stage. The 2009 Rodgers Creek is 92% Syrah
and 8% Viognier, co-fermented. The wine spent 27 months in French oak
barrels, 90% new Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024."

2009 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Pre-Arrival Price $52.99
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big,
dramatic wine endowed with tremendous richness and power. A
large-scaled, dramatic wine, the 2009 Cabernet sweeps across the palate
with generous, deeply resonant fruit. This is shaping up to be another
beauty from David Ramey. The 2009 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from
Lamoreaux, DeSantis, J. Davies and Somerston. Anticipated maturity:
2014-2021."

2009 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain Napa Valley "Annum"
Pre-Arrival Price $89.99
"The
2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Annum comes across as a bit restrained next to
the 2008, which is not a bad thing at all. It possesses stunning depth
and volume in a dramatic style that stands far apart from the super-ripe
2008. Mint, freshly cut flowers, spices and licorice are some of the
notes that add complexity to the fruit. The resonant, creamy finish
leaves a lasting impression. The 2009 includes a new source of fruit,
Shartsis, a vineyard near Dana Estates’s home vineyard in Rutherford
that comprises 55% of the blend. J. Davies (28%) and Pedregal (17%)
account for the remaining 45%. The 2009 Annum is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon
and 17% Petit Verdot. It is a great, great wine from David Ramey.
Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029."

2009 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley "Pedregal Vineyard"
Pre-Arrival Price $159.99
"The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Pedregal
Vineyard bursts onto the palate with an exciting tapestry of black
cherries, plums, camphor, smoke and grilled herbs. It is a tremendously
powerful, structured wine endowed with tons of richness. This dark,
brooding beauty will require considerable patience, but is a stunner.
Wow! The 2009 Pedregal is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot
that spent 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels, every bit of which
is masterfully integrated. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029."
