2010 Serafin Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
On Sale $259.99
"The
2010 Charmes-Chambertin blossoms on the palate in every direction. It
is at once incredibly long yet also totally spherical on the palate.
Bright red fruit, freshly cut flowers and spices are all woven together
gracefully, but this is really a wine of textural finesse above all
else. Rich layers of fruit stain the palate on the intense, deeply
satisfying finish. This is a dazzling showing from Christian Serafin.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2040.."

2010 Serafin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "les Cazatiers"
On Sale $184.99
"A
somber, cool and very restrained nose offers up notes of plum, dark
berries, pungent earth and that distinct sauvage character of a fine
Cazetiers. There is a lovely mineral streak to the powerful and almost
painfully intense big-bodied flavors that offer excellent richness and
drive on the strikingly long finish. This is a terrific effort but I
underscore that it's unapologetically built for the long haul and
cellaring is an absolute must."

2010 Serafin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fonteny"
On Sale $135.99
"Reduction
completely dominates the nose but it does not extend to the rich, round
and relatively suave middle weight flavors that enjoy fine mid-palate
concentration. There is excellent volume with really lovely delineation
as well as a real sense of underlying tension on the lightly
mineral-inflected, dusty, sappy and superbly long finish. This beauty is
very Gevrey but not rustic."

2010 Serafin Morey-st. Denis 1er Cru "Les Millandes"
On Sale $135.99
"Mild
reduction does not significantly impair an appreciation for the ripe
red berry fruit and wet stone suffused nose. There is fine power and
focus to the medium-bodied and again, overtly muscular flavors that
possess ripe shaping tannins and excellent verve on the robust and very
firmly structured finish that delivers impressive persistence. This
large-scaled effort possesses an abundance of buffering extract and it
should amply reward 12 to 15 years of cellar time."

2010 Serafin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Corbeaux"
On Sale $115.99
"Here
too there is heavy reduction. There is excellent mid-palate
concentration and plenty of sap that imparts a velvety mouth feel to the
muscular flavors that possess a distinct Gevrey style sauvage character
that continues onto the long if mildly rustic finish. There is
outstanding length to this very firmly structured effort and while it
won't win any awards for refinement, it quite correctly speaks of its
roots."

2010 Serafin Gevrey-Chambertin AOC Vieilles Vignes
On Sale $99.99
"From 55+ year old vines, a portion of which abut Griotte-Chambertin. This
is also quite reduced. The large-scaled flavors are notably denser and
more powerful than the straight villages cuvée that are underpinned by a
very firm but ripe tannic spine. There is a taut muscularity to the
driving finish that delivers outstanding length for its class and this
should age extremely well, indeed it will need up to a decade to shed
its considerable tannins.Outstanding. "

"One
of my favorite burgundies, the Gevrey-Chambertin VV is consistently
excellent every vintage. Serafin's 2002 was my wine of the vintage,
having out-perforned many Grand Crus at 1/2 the price"

2010 Serafin Gevrey-Chambertin AOC
On Sale $67.99
"Reduction
renders the nose difficult to evaluate but there is good ripeness to
the vibrant and well-detailed medium-bodied flavors that exude a fine
minerality on the precise, pure and lingering finish. This is a quality
villages that is a bit more forward than the old vines cuvée."
