2008 Domaine de Pouy

On Sale $8.99

Compare to The Wine Advocate's Price of $12
"Yves Grassa's 2008 Domaine de Pouy - a blend of Ugni Blanc and Colombard - smells typically of clover, herbs, and grasses, lime, and pineapple. A delicacy; an efficacy of ripe acidity; and an invigorating intimation of peach fuzz and salt in the finish, all make this year's cuvee especially appealing. Keep this on hand in your refrigerator..."
-The Wine Advocate

Wine Critic Robert Parker on Domaine de Pouy "Quite possibly the greatest, dry, white wine value in America."

Rare Philip Togni Cabs

We have two new stunning Cabs from winemaker Philip Togni arriving in a few weeks. Togni is a brilliant winemaker who produces some of the most complex and long lived wines in California and his track record is impeccable. Quantities are very limited. Please act quickly.

Wine Critic Robert Parker on Philip Togni
"This is an irrefutable source of remarkable Cabernet Sauvignons that last 20-30+ years! Philip Togni is a no-nonsense, tough-minded guy who is working alongside his daughter, so the succession at this winery is guaranteed should he ever decide to retire." -Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2006 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Pre-Arrival Price $104.99

"The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate remains one of the finest bargains for long-lived California Cabernet Sauvignon. A dense purple color is followed by stunning aromatics of creosote, black olives, blackberries, cedar, and cassis. Full-bodied with a multi-layered texture, decent acidity, and substantial, but ripe, noble tannins, this excellent effort will benefit from 5-6 years of bottle age, and will be another 30+ year wine."
-Rated 95+/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2007 Philip Togni Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Pre-Arrival Price $107.99

"The sweetness of its tannins sets it apart from other vintages, but it exhibits a dense purple color as well as an extraordinary bouquet of incense, blackberries, cedar, licorice, and a hint of charcoal. It possesses remarkable full-bodied power and concentration along with stunning purity, equilibrium, and a finish that elicits a big smile. This fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon is built along the lines of Togni's 1991, 1992, 1994, and 1997. By Togni's standards, it will be drinkable at a young age, 4-5 years, and keep for 30+ years."
-Rated 94-96/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

On Sale $27.99

Compare to Wine.com's Price of $47.99
"Dense crimson hue. Complex scents of mocha, black cherry and vanilla. Creamy flavors of raspberry and black cherry with secondary nuances of orange pekoe tea and rum cake. Velvety tannins and layers of raspberry, cherry and sweet tobacco in the unfolding close."
-Rated 92/100 Wine News

2007 Domaine Charvin Vin de Pays

On Sale $13.99

"...the 2007 is a brilliant effort. A blend of 42% Grenache, from 60-year-old and 45-year-old parcels, and 58% Merlot from much younger vines, aged for 18 months in concrete tanks, and bottled without filtration, it represents a gorgeous bargain. A deep ruby/purple-tinged color is followed by sweet black cherry, spice box, pepper, and unsmoked cigar tobacco notes. The wine possesses a ripe, round texture, and a long, lusty finish. This is pure hedonism at its best combined with the unmistakable character of Provence. Drink it over the next 1-2 years."
-Rated 90/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

Lucedio Riso Carnaroli

Mention this e-mail and save 20%

We love Lucedio's Riso Carnaroli. It makes a stunningly rich and velvety risotto especially if you're not adding other flavoring ingredients to the rice. It's good enough on its own! Carnaroli's large oval grain contains a higher concentration of starch and is a low yielding strain of rice. It's the preferred rice for most chefs in Italy's Piedmont region and is quickly catching on here in the states too. A great staple for your kitchen pantry!

Parmigiano-Reggiano DOC
Cut and Wrapped Fresh to Your Order!
"We've been delighted with our current batch of Parmigiano-Reggiano. They've been aged to perfection and are delightfully fruity (we detect pineapple and wild strawberry notes...) and delicious. We recommend buying Parmigiano-Reggiano in hunks or wedges which are perfect for nibbling or grating over your favorite pasta dish. We highly recommend grating it yourself as pre-grated Parmigiano loses it's character quickly. Freshly grated always tastes better. Parmigiano-Reggiano is a great snacking cheese too, so don't just grate it over pasta, salads and soups. It's one of our favorite wine tasting cheeses too as it has fresh acidity and doesn't coat your palate and interfere with the flavors of the wine. Stop by for a FREE sample..."

Neal's Yard Dairy Gubbeen

Mention this E-mail and Save 15%

Cut and Wrapped Fresh to Your Order!
"Tom and Giana Ferguson are the fifth-generation producers of Gubbeen, a rosy, washed-rind cheese from West Cork, Ireland. Gubbeen is a regular Neal's Yard Dairy selection and the name of the cheese is Gaelic for small mouthful. It's made from morning milk which is curdled, cut, and molded into forms about the size of a dinner plate. Each cheese is washed delicately with a culture-infused brine. Every wheel develops differently, with some gaining an orange sheen and others exhibiting a light, fluffy bloom. Our wheels have a lively orange rind. We love to pair up a good drink with a fine cheese and we think Gubbeen matches well with a semi-dry Riesling (Mosel, Alsace, etc.) or a dark, rich, English Porter." -John Nash, The Wine Merchant, Ltd.

Neal's Yard Dairy

Handcrafted Cheeses from the UK

We love the handcrafted cheeses from London's Neal's Yard Dairy and we introduced them to Saint Louis many years ago. They specialize in artisan and farmhouse cheese from all over the UK sometimes aging the cheese further before release. We just received a shipment from NYD that includes a few new selections. Stop by for a FREE sample!

Neal's Yard Dairy Cornish Yarg

Rich & Crumbly!

Cornish Yarg is a relatively new cheese but made from a recipe from the 13th century. It's crumbly texture and slightly acidic flavor balanced by a creamy mouthfeel is reminiscent of younger cheddars from the region. This version by Allan and Jenny Gray is made exclusively for Neal's Yard Dairy with a traditional rennet and dry salted by hand instead of a dip in brine. The nettle leaves pressed into Cornish Yarg gives the cheese a very distinctive appearance to compliment the unusual name which is an inversion of "Gray", name of the proud parents! Chardonnay (we love it with a fruity Macon-Villages from Burgundy) brings out the best in this cheese. Stop by for a FREE sample.

Neal's Yard Dairy Ardrahan

Washed Rind Beauty!

Everybody loves a stinker! NYD Ardrahan is a washed rind (aromatic baby...) cheese made by the Burns family in County Cork, Ireland using pasteurised cows milk cheese and vegetarian rennet. It's lively aroma grabs your attention which leads to its lovely washed rind. We love the rind's color - kinda looks like the surface of Mars. Inside it's creamy, gooey and rich with a sort of smoked bacon-meaty note in the finish. An Irish classic and a new Merch favorite. Stop by for a FREE sample.
