Domaine Fondreche

Critic Robert Parker on Domaine Fondreche
"Fondreche is the reference point for what can be done in the Cotes du Ventoux. This is a source of sensational wines that still sell for incredibly fair prices, and virtually every one of these selections proves that you don't have to drink luxury-priced Bordeaux, Burgundy, or Napa Cabernets to experience the multiple joys of wine."

2006 Domaine Fondreche Cotes du Ventoux "Cuvée Nadal"

On Sale $25.99
"The 2006 Nadal, which in this vintage is a blend of 45% old vine Grenache (vines planted in 1936), 45% old vine Syrah, and the rest Mourvedre, has a dark ruby/purple color, a big, sweet kiss of kirsch liqueur intermixed with licorice, loamy soil notes, and hints of pepper and lavender. It is full-bodied, fleshy, rich, and ideal for drinking over the next 4-5 years."
-Rated 91/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

2006 Domaine Fondreche Cotes du Ventoux "Cuvée Persia"
On Sale $25.99
"This is a beauty that is limited in production. Made from 90% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, with two-thirds of it aged in small barrels and the rest in 600-liter demi-muids, the inky/purple 2006 Persia displays creme de cassis and blackberry, and oozes charm and succulence."
-Rated 92/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
